If you are going with your family or friends, this would be the ideal choice. Canters are mini-buses that can seat about 18 people and is a budget-friendly option for large groups.  The canter safari is operated by the Karnataka Forest Department. It happens twice a day on weekdays: between 6:30 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. 

The weekends have four shifts open for canter safari. The timings are 6:00 a.m. - 7:00 a.m., 7:30 a.m. - 9:00 a.m., 3:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

The tickets should be booked at the Forest Department booking desk located at Nagarhole National Park or via online bookings. These counters open around 30 minutes before the safaris begin, so it is recommended you arrive early to get preferred reservations.

River Safari in Kabini
