Kabini Boat Safari
Boat safari is one of the most sought-after activities in Kabini. The safari lasts for 2.5 hours and is conducted twice a day. The timings are early morning from 6:30 am to 9:30 am and once in the afternoon from 3:30 pm to 6:15 pm, so you may choose the time that best fits you. During the safari you may come across elephants bathing, numerous cranes and birds, crocodiles, snakes and other animals that come to the banks of the river. It is advised that you pre-book your safari slot as there is only a limited number of seats available per day. Do note that the boat safari might be suspended during the summer when the water level is low or when the river is overflowing during the rainy season.
The backwaters of the Kabini River are calm and yet it is thrilling to set out on a boat for a safari here. You will come across crocodiles and get a close look at their gnashing teeth, river otters, gaurs, sambar deer, cranes and perhaps even elephants playing in the mud on the river banks. Watch the mighty elephants spray water and take a bath after a game in the mud. Perhaps if luck is on your side you might spot a solitary tiger as well! Keep your camera ready to capture moments in the wild.
