Sunil Sachi is an avid trekker, Traveller, Naturalist with keen interest in (Snakes, Amphibians, scorpions, birds ) and a ace wildlife photographer with over a decade of experience. He has worked extensively in the Western Ghats region photo documenting some rare, elusive newly described reptiles, amphibians and lost frogs of India.
Sunil’s has won several accolades for images in national and international competition like Sanctuary Asia & LAI, National Geographic, BBC and work has been featured in several national, international magazines, books, WWF calendar and journals. He was also involved with many conservation programs & NGOs working in Bandipur, Nagarahole and BRT. we bring you some exciting moments captured by him.

Spotted at Bandipur National Park Karnataka, India, on an evening Safari. It was a breath-taking moment to spot this majestic animal up close completely camouflaged in the lantana thicket on hunt. His glare directly into my lens is something which I will remember for a long time.
Elusive Black Panther
Spotted during evening Safari at the Nagarhole National Park,Kabini. Black Panther is a Melanistic leopard usually found in dense tropical rain forests. Dark coloration gives them better camouflage in the low sunlight conditions of the forest floor.
Spotted during late evening Safari at the Bandipur National Park. There were alarm calls everywhere and we were on the lookout. But there he was just behind our safari jeep stalking a deer.

Indian Gaur Male
Spotted in Bandipur National Park, Karnataka, India. Gaur also called the Indian bison, is the world’s largest and tallest wild bovine (cattle). The large bull can weigh up to 1,500 kg. It's always an treat to watch these muscular Bull's in monsoons of south Indian jungle.
The Whistling Hunter
The dhole is a fascinating mammal also known as Asiatic wild dog, Indian wild dog, whistling dog, red dog. Habitat destruction, loss of the natural prey, hunting and diseases (such as rabies) led dholes to the brink of extinction. These animals are listed as endangered species.

Elephant in Musth
Bandipur National Park, Karnataka - Musth is a periodic condition in bull (male) elephants, characterized by highly aggressive behavior and accompanied by a large rise in reproductive hormones. Testosterone levels in an elephant in musth can be as much as 60 times greater than in the same elephant at other times.

Striped Necked Mongoose
The Stripe-necked Mongoose is the biggest mongoose found in Asia. Confined to India and Sri Lanka. This species is threatened on a local scale by hunting and trade. It is hunted for its meat and for its hair that is used for making shaving brushes, paint brushes, and good luck charms.

In general, by nature leopards are very illusive and shy. But Spotted this big guy resting on a tree top, just by the road after a heavy meal,. while he rested with an occasional stare directly to my lens and gave ample of time and opportunity to photograph before Quickly descending from his perch to disappear into bushes.
